The Case of the Oracle EBS FileNet P8 Link

Glenn was contacted by a Fortune 500 construction company who was struggling with issues surrounding their accounts payable process. Oracle EBS (Enterprise Business Suite) was used to process their payables but clerks were forced to confirm invoices that were scanned into their FileNet P8 system. This meant switch from Oracle EBS, logging into FileNet P8, searching for the invoice viewing the document, then switching back to Oracle EBS.
The process was tedious to say the least. High Power worked out a solution using Java Server Pages (JSP) and the FileNet P8 API whereby the payable clerk could view the invoice or invoices directly from within Oracle EBS by clicking a single menu item. The invoices were displayed in a FileNet-authenticated web page that opened automatically after the menu item was clicked. The scanned images of the invoice could then be viewed using the native FileNet P8 viewer, as well.
