eCommerce and Auction Programming
High Power Consulting specializes in writing software that you can't buy off the shelf. Lousiana State University is benefiting from a custom developed website called AlexBoxAuctions.NET. Proceeds will be split between the LSU athletic department and the academic side of the University. The sale and auction is being facilitated by the Tiger Athletic Foundation which recently was approved to handle demolition of the stadium. The TAF partnered with Maxon Media and High Power Consulting, Inc. to manage the sale and distribution of the memorabilia.
The site features generic "add-to-cart" functionality for stock items, but also includes a customized reservation system for handling the sale of season ticket holders' gold seats. This allows a season ticket holder of the old stadium to purchase the same seats they have been sitting in for years. Additionally, much of the memorabilia is put up on weekly auctions. High Power created a non-flashing auction engine which allows a bidder to know their bid status without having to refresh their web page. [See Figure 1]
The website is hosted at High Power's Tier IV data center, hosting facility, and corporate office in Baton Rouge. You can view the site online at http://www.alexboxauctions.net.
