Why does High Power Consulting exist?

At High Power, we like to ask ourselves questions as we do software development. Some of the questions are technical in nature, but often we find ourselves having whiteboard-driven philosophical discussions, never heated, but always interesting. Mortimer J. Adler said, "Philosophy is everybody's business." We think he is right.
One of the questions we ultimately get around to is, "Why do we exist?" The question is equally valid for companies as it is for individuals. We believe High Power exists to "Make people's lives better through superior software."

You might find these a bit odd, but we are proud of our positions:- We do not use overseas labor or outsource beyond our extremely capable and loyal Louisiana-based employees.
- We have done work for the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, Louisiana Department of Labor, Entergy, El Paso Energy, Edgen-Murray and other large clients
- We employ graduates from Louisiana State University (GeauxTigers), Southeastern Louisiana University (Geaux Lions!), NichollsUniversity (Go Colonels!), and Southern University (Go Jags!)
- We love developing websites, portals, dashboards, extranets, and highly dynamic browser-based applications We are Microsoft-centric in our tools (ASP.NET, C#, VB.NET, SQLServer, Windows Server 2003/2008) We are very good at integrating other technologies (IBM FileNet,document management, accounting, A/P, A/R, Inventory, GL, Financials,PeopleSoft, Oracle, Quickbooks, FourthShift, SalesLogix)
