Who are the Humans behind High Power?
In our own words (First Person)
Senior Analyst and Founder
Calvin Fabre
Hi, and thanks for reading this. I founded High Power in 1997 while
living and working in Houston, Texas in the Oil and Gas Industry. My first professional experience in software development was writing a Rig Inventory System for the harsh-environment and deep-water niche of Transocean Offshore, then Sonat Offshore Drilling. I learned first-hand
how the development of excellent software can make people's lives much better, while at the same time, bringing efficiency to the company they work for. I learned a great deal about business and technology from the incredibly talented people, technical and non-technical, along the way.
The professionals at High Power want to be here and love making people's lives better through superior software. Sometimes we do this by buying something off the shelf, other times, we craft a custom software solution around your unique way of doing business. In any case, we have a great time doing it.
Others have asked, "How do you get such great people to work with High Power?" Well, we draw from the best wells -- Louisiana Colleges. I believe that Louisiana is and will continue to prove itself to be the "Technology Capital of South" and that our graduates have the most to offer. We frequently speak on the campuses and contribute on advisory boards of our Louisiana colleges thus directing the curriculum and preparing the students for what they can expect in the "real world" of software, technology, and working with other people.
We believe we should contribute to help Louisiana's people and economy before we send
resources anywhere else.

Well looky here! Glad we can meet and I am hoping we are meeting soon on the golf course to discuss your daily "IT" pain so we can create a solution for it. I started with High Power in 2006 after a few years of coding Legislative software and small government applications. I hold a Bachelor’s degree from Nicholls State University aka "Harvard On the Bayou" in Computer Information Systems and like most here at High Power wear many hats. At any given point in the day I can either be writing your estimate, coding your software, answering your support call, or planning daily tasks for other developers.

Coming from a small town in South Louisiana I like to take a less formal approach with clients and establish a personal relationship. Don't take offense if after a few meetings I ask, "How's Your Mom and them?" When I'm not creating an incredible Deer Management Tracking System (which is a must- see -- request a demo!) I can be found trying to convince these other nerds that VB.NET is so much easier to code than C#!
TPS reports? So many times I have heard clients admit that data is keyed in 3, 4, and 5 times into different systems. With rich security and integrations, there is no reason for this. I think you would be truly amazed at the time and money you will save by getting rid of the "Department of Redundancy Department." I am looking forward to meeting you, stay safe and MAKE it a great day!
