Site vs. Application

Q:  Don't you mean web site development?

A:  Well, no.  Web Applications are not the same as web sites.  Anyone can break the shrink-wrap on Microsoft FrontPage or some other HTML editor and go into business making web sites.  We do much more than that.  We write dynamic, living, interactive, data-driven applications or programs that happen to run on the web or via web-browsers.

We have not yet written a web application that did not access some back-end database or data store like Microsoft SQL Server, MySql, Oracle, Xml, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Exchange Server, DB2, FileNet, and yes, even FoxPro, dBASE, and Clipper files.  This makes the web application very dynamic and interactive.  On the Internet or Intranet, "Content is King."  In most cases, fresh, dynamic content is more useful that out-of-date, static content.
